Christmas 2024

“Welcome the King of Glory.”

Have you made time to welcome Jesus into the Christmas season this year?

Pause now.

Welcome Him In.

“Welcome the King of Glory, for he is about to come through you.

You ask, “Who is this King of Glory?” Yahweh… invincible in every way! So wake up, you living gateways, and rejoice! Fling wide, you eternal doors!

Here he comes; the King of Glory is ready to come in. You ask, “Who is this King of Glory?” He is Yahweh… the Mighty One, the invincible commander of heaven’s hosts!

Yes, he is the King of Glory!

Pause in his presence.”

(Psalms 24:7-10, TPT)

Pause. Think about the One who was in the beginning, who entered this world as an infant, and who is with us now.

Remember the testimonies of the Mighty One’s grandmothers, their part in the Christmas story, and how they, in their own way, were preparing us to welcome the King of Glory.

Bathsheba was innocent like a lamb but suffered great pain at the hands of others. Her story reminds us of the innocence of the One who became the Christ-child, the Lamb of God, who entered our pain, saw us, and loved us through our hardships.

Rahab was a foreigner who believed in God. She saved her family by placing a crimson-red rope in a window. Her story reminds us of the One who shed his blood to save anyone who would believe.

Tamar was known as being more righteous than those around her and a preserver of the lineage of the Messiah. Her story reminds us of the One who creates a way for us to be made righteous.

Pause.

“Make room for “Yahweh, the Mighty One…
Yes! He is the King of Glory.
Pause in His Presence.”

(Psalm 24:10, TPT)

I pray that when you pause, to be still and know that God is God, you will remember how much He loves you, sees you, and is with you. May you breathe in the presence of the Mighty One and feel His presence with you now as you welcome Him in. So be it, in Jesus’ name.

Meditate: Jesus, You are welcome here.

Reflect: When you stop to pause and think about the presence of God with you, what comes to mind? How does it make you feel that God left the comforts of heaven to make a way for you to be reconciled with Him? How can you have a posture that continually welcomes Jesus into your day?

Deeper: (As you read through these additional verses, ask the Spirit to give you wisdom, and teach you more about how to make more space for Him and create a heart that continually welcomes Him.). Scripture: Psalm 24; Luke 1:1-38; 2 Corinthians 5:14-6:1
